My name is Andreas Wernitznig and I was born in 1969 in Klagenfurt. I live in Vienna, Austria. I am married and have three kids. I work as a bioinformatician in cancer research in a large pharma company. I like to keep control over my electronic activities and therefore prefer open source software.
In 2001 I founded a bioinformarics startup company. I use Linux since the very early times. I like C++ and Perl but I am best in Postgresql’s relational database system and R programming. I support hacker ethic. My system knowledge could not keep pace with the rapid developments in recent years.
As a student I played guitar in various jazz and rock bands. I love modern jazz music and inter cultural exchange, in particular with my wonderful Brazilian wife.
